In our new factory—equipped with patented high technologies and now fully operational following the completion of construction, machinery, and equipment installations—we have begun producing Activated Carbon from hazelnut shells. We are proud and excited to offer this innovative, environmentally friendly product, manufactured entirely from 100% locally sourced raw materials, to meet the needs of many different industries in Türkiye and around the world.

This new product, which will be marketed under the Hendex brand, holds the distinction of being the first Activated Carbon produced through mass production from hazelnut shells in Türkiye and is currently in the process of being introduced to the market.

As Balsu, we go beyond viewing hazelnut shells merely as waste. By processing this natural raw material in our environmentally conscious, high-capacity, high-quality, and safe production facilities that utilize advanced technologies, we transform it into a high value-added product capable of replacing imported alternatives.

Balsu Hendex Activated Carbon products will be used for purification, refinement, air filtration, and water filtration purposes across a wide range of industries, including precious metals, automotive, home appliances, energy storage, food, beverages, pharmaceuticals, textiles, mining, metals, electronics, and the defense industry.

By processing over 100,000 tons of hazelnut shells annually to produce Activated Carbon, and by generating renewable energy and soil enhancers from the synthesis gas released during production, we firmly believe that—just as in hazelnuts—we will become one of the world’s leading companies in the field of Activated Carbon as well.
