Our Hendex Activated Carbon factory, equipped with patented high technologies and boasting an annual processing capacity of over 100,000 tons of hazelnut shells, has completed its construction and is now fully operational. We produce activated carbon from hazelnut shells, a domestic and environmentally friendly raw material, using the 0 formula.

We are proud to be able to offer this innovative and important product, needed by many sectors in Türkiye and around the world, in all its varieties and with high quality standards, as a replacement for imported products.

In addition to meeting our country's activated carbon needs, Hendex Activated Carbon products, which are capable of competing in world markets, have the potential to make significant contributions to Balsu's export revenues.

Hendex Activated Carbon products, which are the first activated carbon produced from hazelnut shells through mass production in Türkiye, are in the process of being offered to the Turkish and world markets with all their varieties.

What is Activated Carbon?

Activated carbon is a specialized and important product used in precious metals, automotive, home appliances, energy storage, food, beverage, pharmaceuticals, textiles, mining, electronics, and defense industries for purification, air and water filtration purposes.

The fact that the global market value has reached $15 billion indicates how large and important the activated carbon industry has become worldwide, and that its critical role in industrial and environmental applications, along with increasing demand, will lead to continued steady growth in the coming years.
