Balsu Agro Chile SpA
Balsu Industries Chile SpA

At Balsu, in addition to being an active player in the European hazelnut market since 1979 and the American market since 1993, we continue to move forward with confident steps in line with our global trade growth strategy with our agricultural and industrial investments that we started in Chile in 2017 and 2019.

In Chile, with our investment in establishing hazelnut orchards, which was formalized as Balsu Agro Chile SpA in 2017, we are delighted to have completed the 4th harvest from our hazelnut trees, which number 70,000 and cover a total area of 160 hectares, using a 548 km long irrigation pipeline system.

We are resolutely continuing our journey to further expand our global market share in the hazelnut trade, starting with the Americas and Asia-Pacific countries, and to become the best in the world, by integrating our agricultural investment consisting of hazelnut orchards in Chile with our high-tech hazelnut processing factory, whose construction and machinery have been completed, established in Chile in 2019 under the name Balsu Industries Chile SpA.

Why Chile?

Balsu operates on the principle of being active wherever there is significant hazelnut production in the world, and in this sense, its first investments were made in Chile. Thanks to the fact that Turkey and Chile have different harvest periods for hazelnuts, uninterrupted hazelnut cultivation and supply is possible throughout the year. In addition, Chile's proximity to the American and Asia-Pacific markets reduces logistics costs and increases Balsu's competitiveness in the global market.
